Audio visual installation

Processing program, computer, Arduino, Neopixel light rings

AV#1 is an audio visual installation which responds to the presence and movement of people. Moving around the installation space alters various sound waves played in the space, and the viewer is almost able to play the artwork as an instrument - although they have no visual reference as to how their movements are changing the auditory response. Responsive coloured lights accompany this changing sound. On entering the installation space, the viewer and the environment enter into a symbiotic relationship - the state of the environment is dependent upon the people within it, but the people within it move around the environment in response to its state. A continuous feedback loop between artwork and viewer occurs.
