Large-scale networked installation

Processing program, computers, Microsoft Kinects, screens

Comprised of a network of computers and Kinect sensors, the artwork continuously collects, transmits, and visualises data about the movement of people around the building its situated within. Each node on the network collects this data via a Kinect sensor, and instantly transmits it to a machine elsewhere in the building, where it is used to generate a drawing – a visual re-presentation of movement in the building. Each node also transmits to a central machine, in which all of the data is used to generate one image. The viewer cannot directly witness their effects upon the artwork but they are, however, able to observe the results of the movement of others elsewhere in the building.
